PHILADELPHIA (973espn.com) - A dominant first half turned into a hand-wringing second one but the Eagles held on in the end, winning 22-14 over the offensively-challenged Chicago Bears to move over .500 for the season entering the team's bye week.

A comfortable 19-0 advantage in the third quarter turned into a one-possession game early in the fourth quarter with the Bears having an opportunity to move in front which was quickly derailed by a David Montgomery drop on a screen play. When the Eagles got the football back that went on a 16-play drive that siphoned more than eight minutes off the clock and resulted in a 38-yard Jake Elliott field goal with only 25 seconds remaining.

Desperate on the ensuing kickoff Chicago tried to make something happen but Rasul Douglas forced a fumble to end the game and give Philadelphia its second consecutive win.

Carson Wentz was brilliant on the game-winning dive without his two top receiving options, DeSean Jackson, who returned after missing six games with an abdomen injury but played just one series before tapping out again as he just felt too uncomfortable to continue. Alshon Jeffery, meanwhile, left in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury and dropped three passes in the game.

Pederson utilized Miles Sanders on a wheel route, Zach Ertz on a rub route and finally Dallas Goedert on a middle screen to convert three different times and send Chicago spiraling to 3-5.

Wentz finished 26-of-39 for 239 and a 25-yard touchdown to Ertz, who snared nine of 11 targets for 103 yards.

Jordan Howard carried it 19 times for 82 yards and a TD against his old team while Miles Sanders added 42 more on the ground on 10 carries.

The Bears offense was non-existent for most of the game with maligned QB Mitchell Trubiskly looking like a mechanical mess and completing just 10-of-21 passes for 125 yards.

The Eagles will next face the reigning Super Bowl champion New England Patriots at Lincoln Financial Field on Nov. 17.
