Sean Mannion Joins Growing List of Eagles OC Candidates

The 33-year-old Mannion is the latest coach linked to the Eagles OC gig, with Houston Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson reportedly interviewing with Philadelphia, along with Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith.

Mannion is coming off his second season with the Packers after spending nearly a decade in the NFL as a backup quarterback, mostly with the Rams and Minnesota Vikings, appearing in 14 NFL games, making three starts.

Johnson, who bounced around with six different NFL organizations as a backup Q before joining the coaching ranks in 2017. Has been the quarterbacks coach with the Houston Texans for the past three seasons. Johnson, who was on the Eagles' practice squad in 2011, spent time with Nick Sirianni in Indianapolis during the 2020 season.

Smith has been the Offensive coordinator for the past three seasons in Miami, but has not called the plays, which was the job of head coach Mike McDaniel. he has been a run game coordinator and offensive line coach with the Chargers, and a Tight ends coach with the Raiders, Bears, and spent time with the Saints as a assistant offensive line coach.
