The Philadelphia Eagles announced Tuesday they have signed offensive lineman Fred Johnson to a one-year deal, bringing him back as their swing tackle after starting eight games for them in 2025.

Strengthening the Trenches: Fred Johnson Returns

The team traded to bring Johnson back before the start of last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick. Johnson signed with the Jaguars after the Eagles' Super Bowl victory, after he started in six of 17 games that season. Johnson, 29, has played in seven seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals (2019-2021), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2022), and in Philadelphia with the Eagles (2023-2025).

The 6-foot-7, 326-pounder started eight games for Philadelphia last year and started in 14 total games with the Eagles since coming over in 2023.

The Florida product went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft and brings versatility, having started 22 total games, and has played both left tackle and right tackle in Philadelphia.

Adding Versatility to the Receiving Corps: Elijah Moore Joins the Birds

Johnson joins former Jets, Browns, and Bills wide receiver Elijah Moore, who also signed a one-year deal on Tuesday night.

Moore, a second-round pick of the Jets in 2021, appeared in nine games for the Bills last season and had nine catches for 112 yards.

He was released in November and added to the Denver Broncos' practice squad.   He had 120 catches for 1,178 yards and three touchdowns during his two seasons in Cleveland.

He adds more depth to the Eagles' wide receiver room, which added Hollywood Brown with a one-year contract worth up to $6.5 million last week in free agency.
