PHILADELPHIA ( — After two physical practices, this week and two live periods on Tuesday the Eagles were in shells and shorts Wednesday and went through a scaled-back 10/10/10 session.

Designed to give the offense, defense and special teams specific looks in their particular periods, 10/10/10 practices are practices to work on technique and execution.

Veteran All-Pro center Jason Kelce was given a maintenance day and Isaac Seumalo slid over to take over the first-team work in the pivot with Stefen Wisnieski, who had been handling the second-team work at center, working in at left guard. The undrafted Nate Herbig, typically a guard, played center for the first time in his football career on the second team.

"Never played it before," Herbig told while walking off the field. "They [Kelce and Wisniewski] helped a lot and I think I did OK."

There were no noticeable bad snaps when Herbig was in and working with Nate Sudfeld. Another undrafted rookie, Keegan Render, handled the third-team work and snapped to Cody Kessler and Clayton Thorson.

Jason Peters did some individual work but also was given the day off from team work with first-round pick Andre Dillard slotting in at left tackle.

Some of the exciting moments for fans in attendance were Carson Wentz hitting Alshon Jeffery on an out pattern for a touchdown, and Rasul Douglas tipping a Sudfeld throw to tight end Will Tye which Tre Sullivan was able to intercept.

Sudfeld did throw a rope to Zach Ertz for a TD but the play likely would have been ruled dead in a more competitive environment as the backup signal caller held the football for far too long.

Rehabbing players like LB Nigel Bradham (foot), Ronald Darby (knee), Jalen Mills (foot) and Corey Clement (knee) worked for a significant period on a separate field.

Paul Worrilow (knee), Mack Hollins (lower body) and Cre'Von LeBlanc (foot) remain sidelined as well.

-Dave Fipp spent quite a bit of time working on kickoff returns with tight ends Dallas Goedert and Richard Rodgers working as the lead blockers in front of the returners. The second duo was defensive ends Vinny Curry and Josh Sweat with Joe Ostman working in on occasion.

-The main return group was Wendell Smallwood, Miles Sanders and Donnel Pumphrey with DeAndre Thompkins, Darren Sproles, Jordan Howard and Corey Clement also taking some mental reps.

-Ostman told that Tuesday was the first time he was used in a joker role as a stand-up pass rusher. The Eagles understand their is pass-rush potential there and are looking to find a role for Ostman.

-Jake Elliott blasted a 51-yard field goal with at least 10 yards to spare.

-Eagles star defensive tackle Fletcher Cox on finishing No. 28 in this year’s NFL Network Top 100: “We all know the truth. You’re not going to tell me there are 27 people in the league better than me."
