The Philadelphia Eagles say they will interview axed-Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith later this week.

Lovie Smith's firing in Chicago came as somewhat of a surprise, as he had had a winning record leading the Bears over the past eight years.

According to the team, the interview will take place on Thursday. Smith becomes just the second former head coach the Eagles plan to consider, behind Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator and former San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan.

The team is also slated to meet with Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley at some point.
