The Bryce Huff era in Philadelphia has come to an end.
Eagles Trade Bryce Huff to San Francisco
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Eagles and 49ers are finalizing a deal that will send Huff to San Francisco to reunite with the 49ers' new defensive coordinator, Robert Saleh, who was his former Head Coach with the Jets.
According to Schefter, the Eagles will acquire a mid-round pick in exchange for Huff and the trade will be official post-June 1.
Huff was a big-ticket free agent signing by the Eagles last offseason, inking him to a three-year contract worth $51.1 million after a season in New York where he had a career-high 29 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks in 2023.
Huff’s Underwhelming 2024 in Philly
In 2024 with the Eagles, he played in just was limited to 12 games due to a wrist injury, logging just two sacks, 11 QB hurries, and was inactive for the Super Bowl.
Who Replaces Huff in the Eagles' Defense?
With Huff gone, the Eagles still have plenty of options to replace his 285 defensive snaps. The team inked Azeez Ojulari, formerly of the Giants, to a one-year, $4 million contract and Joshua Uche, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year, $1.92 million contract. They also drafted Antwaun Powell-Ryland in the sixth round of this year's draft.
