ESPN: A.J. Brown expects to miss ‘a couple of weeks’
A.J. Brown said he felt some tightness in his hamstring on Friday during practice, causing him to miss Monday's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
It sounds like it won't be the only game he misses.
According to ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters, Brown expects "to miss a couple of weeks" with his hamstring injury.
"What happened in practice on Friday was really just a freak thing," Salters said Brown told her before the game. "He said he was running around and his hamstring tightened up on him. He said he does not think it's too serious, but he does expect to miss a couple of weeks."
Losing Brown is a huge blow to the Eagles' offense, the wide receiver hauled in five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ Week 1 win over the Packers.
Without Brown, the team elevated veteran receiver Paris Campbell from the practice squad for Monday's game against Atlanta.
Brown signed a new three-year contract extension worth up to $96 million, including $84 million in guarantees back in April. He came over to Philadelphia in a 2021 draft night trade with the Tennessee Titans and has back-to-back seasons with over 1,400 yards and 19 career touchdowns with Philadelphia.
