When the Flyers officially kick off their 50th season, it will be kind of like how they started their first: on Oct. 14 against the Los Angeles Kings. In 1967, the Flyers lost 4-2 to the Kings on Oct. 14 in what was their second ever game.

Both the Flyers and Kings are celebrating golden anniversaries in the 2016-17 season and a nod at history will come at a cost early. The Flyers will travel to Glendale, Arizona the next day and take on the Coyotes on Oct. 15.

The Flyers' first home game will be Oct. 20 against the Anaheim Ducks. The reason for the late start this season is the World Cup of Hockey, which takes place from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1 at the latest.

Here is the full schedule for the Flyers.
