After a long three days of training camp practice and an even longer offseason, it's finally time for the Flyers to take the ice for a game.
This year's preseason opener pits the Flyers against the New York Islanders on Monday night at Wells Fargo Center at 7 p.m.
The Flyers lineup for the game will be the same as the lines run in their first group on Sunday at practice with one exception. Forward Morgan Frost, originally scheduled to play in the game, will miss Monday's game with a lower-body injury. He is day-to-day.
The lines for Monday's game look like this:
|25 James van Riemsdyk||13 Kevin Hayes||93 Jake Voracek|
|23 Oskar Lindblom||50 German Rubtsov||44 Chris Stewart|
|76 Isaac Ratcliffe||46 Cal O'Reilly||49 Joel Farabee|
|64 Maksim Sushko||24 Mikhail Vorobyev||51 Kyle Criscuolo|
|53 Shayne Gostisbehere||61 Justin Braun|
|54 Egor Zamula||5 Phil Myers|
|55 Sam Morin||3 Andy Welinski|
|37 Brian Elliott||34 Alex Lyon|
The Islanders roster for Monday's game will be as follows:
Forwards: Cole Bardreau, Anthony Beauvillier, Kieffer Bellows, Erik Brown, Casey Cizikas, Josh Ho-Sang, Otto Koivula, Matt Lorito, Colin McDonald, Matt Martin, Travis St. Denis
Defensemen: Sebastian Aho, Kyle Burroughs, Thomas Hickey, Grant Hutton, Scott Mayfield, Luca Sbisa, David Quenneville
Goalies: Semyon Varlamov, Christopher Gibson
This will be the first of seven preseason games for the Flyers, six of which will be played over the next two weeks before the team heads to Europe ahead of the season opener. The Flyers are holding a brief morning skate in Voorhees for Monday's game group and another session for the non-game group after. The same routine will be on for Tuesday before the Flyers head to Long Island to face the Islanders on the road.
