The Flyers entered the offseason with four restricted free agents. At the top of the list was Tyson Foerster, whose late-season surge helped him to a 25-goal season in his second NHL campaign.

The 23-year-old forward has a new deal. The Flyers and Foerster have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal with a $3.75 million AAV on Thursday, according to Daily Faceoff's Anthony DiMarco and Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Foerster played in 81 games in the 2024-25 season, scoring 25 goals and 43 points. In the final nine games of the season, Foerster had nine goals and 11 points, including his first career hat trick at Madison Square Garden on April 9. He had 20 goals and 33 points in 77 games in his rookie season in 2023-24.

Foerster also played for Team Canada at World Championships following the 2024-25 regular season. He scored two goals and had three points in seven games.

The bridge deal allows the Flyers to see what Foerster’s next level is over the next two seasons. Foerster also bets on himself to continue to take his game to new heights before his next negotiation. Foerster doesn’t become an unrestricted free agent until after the 2028-29 season, and the Flyers can sign a long-term extension with Foerster next offseason.

The Flyers have three remaining restricted free agents: Noah Cates, Jakob Pelletier, and Cam York.
