ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Former Cedar Creek wide receiver Ahmir Mitchell and one other player, defensive end Shelton Johnson, have been suspended from the Michigan football team.

Coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters Monday that two players were suspended, although he did not identify them or give additional details. An athletic department spokesman has confirmed he was referring to Johnson and Mitchell.

Mitchell was part of the team's signing class this year after staring at the Egg Harbor City school where he had 39 catches for 474 yards and two touchdowns to help lead the Pirates to a South Jersey Group II title.
