Inside the Birds: Someone, Please Spare a Cornerback
Stop us if you've heard this before: The Eagles badly need an upgrade at cornerback.
Beset by injuries and individual struggles -- and sometimes a combination of both -- the Eagles are in dire straits again at cornerback with very few healthy bodies available for Sunday's game against the Jets. Avonte Maddox and Ronald Darby are out. Sidney Jones is nursing another hamstring injury and is "day-to-day," per Doug Pederson. Jalen Mills and Cre'von LeBlanc are inching closer to returning but both are still unable to play.
Right now, only Rasul Douglas, free-agent signing Orlando Scandrick and Craig James are good to go for Sunday's game. (Luckily, the Eagles are facing the 0-3 Jets)
Fans are clamoring for Jalen Ramsey, but the Jaguars appear unhurried into dealing him. Where do the Eagles go from here?
Eagles Insiders Geoff Mosher and Adam Caplan discussed all the options facing Howie Roseman in the latest Inside the Birds podcast. They also discussed the offensive line's dominance against Green Bay, some of Jim Schwartz's scheme tinkers and adjustments, the real reasons for Sidney Jones' struggles and how scouts sized up new linebacker Duke Riley.
