Ten Sure Signs Summer is Ending in South Jersey

Goodbye summer and hello fall!

Here are the signs that show us that summer is quickly coming to a close.

1. It's dark at 8pm. (Then 7:30, then 7:00...)

2. Saturday morning Parkway traffic into Cape May is no longer a thing.

3. You no longer need beach tags. (After Labor Day, in case you didn't know.)

4 It's harder to find a beach with lifeguards. (Pro Tip: Don't go into the water that's not protected by life guards. People die when they do this.)

5. You need a sweater, hoodie, or jacket in the evening.

6. Instead of hearing the ice cream truck, you're hearing the school bus.

7. The shore towns have easy-to-find parking.

8. The water is warmer than the air. (Shh, this is a locals secret. September is the best time to go to the beach.)

9. "See You Next Summer" signs appear in boardwalk shop windows.

10. Pumpkin spice is everywhere.
