Hey, fried chicken lovers. A quickly expanding Southern fried chicken restaurant chain plans to make its presence known in South Jersey as early as 2025.

Zaxby's Looks to Expand to New Jersey

Zaxby's, the popular Georgia-based fried chicken franchise famous for its chicken fingers, wings, and signature sauces, has plans to add its first two South restaurants by the summer of 2025.

According to a release from the company, this is just the beginning of a major expansion into the Garden State.

Zaxby's has entered into a six-restaurant deal with New Jersey investment company GSP Group, led by Premanand Gupta, a longtime New Jersey resident.

"We started looking into Zaxbys about a year ago," said Premanand Gupta.

"We have always been interested in the growing chicken market, and Zaxbys stood out with its exceptional product and strong business model. We're confident that it will quickly become a local favorite."

Gupta and his associates own other restaurant brands, including Dunkin' and Subway.

The company plans to establish a strong presence in South Jersey first. One of the locations being considered is in Cherry Hill.

But a Zaxby's franchisee map makes it known the entire state is open to consideration.
