Targeting Non-compliant Sex Offenders

Troopers say this "coordinated, multijurisdictional initiative" went after convicted sex offenders who failed to comply with Megan's Law registration requirements.

As a result of their work, nine non-compliant offenders were apprehended across New Jersey and New York.

Authorities pointed out that work like this underscores their commitment to protecting the state's most vulnerable population and honoring the legacy of Megan Kanka.

Through strategic enforcement and close interagency collaboration, this operation delivers a clear message: violations of Megan’s Law will not be tolerated, and those who attempt to evade accountability will be located and brought to justice.

Officials did not release the names of those who were arrested.
