Jalen Hurts had an MVP type performance on Sunday, and it helped his odds to win the award.

After opening the season at +8000 to win the league’s top individual honor, after a single week of the NFL season, Hurts odds are blowing up.

According to Draft Kings Sportsbook, Hurts is tied with players like Baker Mayfield, Kirk Cousins and Teddy Bridgewater for the NFL MVP odds (+3500).

That current leader is Kansas City Chiefs’ star Patrick Mahomes (+500), Matthew Stafford of Los Angeles Rams’ (+800), Seattle's Russell Wilson, Tampa's Tom Brady and Arizona's Kyler Murry are each at +1000.

Hurts was at +8000 before Philadelphia defeated Atlanta, 32-6, on Sunday, making for one of the largest jumps in the NFL MVP odds race.

Hurts opened eyes all over the NFL and betting world after he completed 27-of-35 passes for 264 yards and three touchdowns, adding seven carries for 62 yards.

Meanwhile, Eagles rookie wide receiver DeVonta Smith is also moving up board to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Smith, the No. 10 overall pick in this years draft opened at +1600 to win rookie of the year honors.

Now after his opening week against Atlanta, which included six catches for  71 yards and a touchdown his odds are improving.
