Minor League Baseball announced the cancellation of the 2020 season on Tuesday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Former Phillies who played in Lakewood include 2008 World Series MVP Cole Hamels, 2006 NL Most Valuable Player Ryan Howard, Scott Kingery, J.A. Happ, Randy Wolf and many others.
The 2020 MLB season is expected to get underway on Thursday, July 23 after a three-week period to get the players ready for the return of play.
