Buster Olney talks Cliff Lee to Rangers

ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney called in and talked about the report he sent out about Cliff Lee possibly being dealt yet again to the Rangers for 3B stud prospect Mike Olt and others.  Olney said that the trade is "really complicated to complete" and he doesn't know if the two teams will have enough time to get it done.  Out of any player on the market, Olney believes Victorino will be traded because he is a free agent after the season and the Phillies will not bring him back.  Follow Buster Olney's tweets on the Phillies here.

Former GM Jim Bowden

Former GM for the Reds and Nationals Jim Bowden called in next and gave us the perspective of a GM on trading deadline day.  Bowden now writes for ESPN.com and hosts a radio show on Sirius/XM.  Bowden believes the Phillies should sell off, re-tool and be right back in it next season.  The Phillies farm system is bleak and a Cliff Lee trade, followed by Victorino, Pence would replenish it.  On Victorino value: "Just hoping to get a good arm back in return.  He is a rental player for other teams and will only net you a bullpen arm in return.  Jim Bowden is always breaking news on Twitter, follow him here.

The Olympics

Mike and Todd talked a little bit about The Summer Olympics going on in London right now and both are not pleased with the strategy NBC has used in airing tape delayed events.  With social media in this age, it's impossible to avoid the real-time results.  Mike Gill understands the ratings aspect of it, but he wants NBC to air them live and then replay them during the evenings for the folks who missed it.  Mike and Todd also debate the emotion showed by Jordyn Wieber, when she did not qualify for all-around final.
