Final score -- New Jersey State Troopers: 1, man fleeing from a traffic stop in Cape May County: 0.

Officials with the New Jersey State Police say they arrested 42-year-old Christian Harris of Pittsgrove after he fled from a traffic stop in Cape May County early on the morning of Halloween.

According to a social media post, troopers stopped Harris for a traffic violation on Route 47 in Middle Township at around 2:15 on the morning of October 31st.

They say, "when Harris stopped his vehicle, he exited and attempted to flee on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, troopers apprehended him."

During an investigation, troopers determined that Harris was allegedly under the influence and found to be in possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Harris has been charged with eluding, resisting arrest, obstruction, criminal under the influence, possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and DWI. Police say he also had a criminal warrant out for his arrest.

Harris was lodged at the Cumberland County Jail.

The public is reminded that (a) state troopers are really good at running, and (b) charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
