The Super Bowl will have a different feel this year.

Not only is the game expected to played in frigid temperatures, but an Opera star will perform the National Anthem in front of football fans at the Meadowlands next week.

Renee Fleming, a New York native, will be the first Opera star to ever perform the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

Like her predecessors, Fleming is a Grammy Award winner, but has never graced the Billboard pop or country music charts.

Fleming is well connected and experienced with the New York metropolitan area studying at the Juilliard School and performing at such venues as Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.

Past singers of the National Anthem have included: Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson. The last time a male performed the rendition was in 2007 when Billy Joel sung for fans in Miami.

The Super Bowl will be played between the Broncos and Seahawks at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on February 2nd.
