Pair of Former Eagles Land in Washington Before Opener vs Eagles

This week's opponent the Washington Redskins brought in a few familiar faces as the get ready to take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

So are they looking to get a little Intel on their NFC East rivals?

"I think it's a real thing," admitted Eagles head coach Doug Pederson. " I don't know how much it plays into the game planning part of that week. It happens. It happens a lot. But I'm sure coaches will pick the brain and see what they know and see what they can use. And probably it just kind of confirms anything that they have seen on tape that they have been able to prepare for."

Washington signed a pair of former Eagles, running back Wendell Smallwood and defensive tackle Treyvon Hester, both were released by the birds this weekend.

Smallwood of course has been with the Eagles the past three seasons, and had three productive seasons, in 37 games with the Eagles from 2016-2018.  The former fifth round pick had 211 carries for 850 and five touchdowns and 47 catches for 388 and two receiving scores.

Hester will be remembered for getting his finger tips on the 'double-doink' missed field goal in the Eagles playoff win over the Chicago Bears. The 2017 seventh-rounder has totaled 32 tackles and one sack over 26 NFL appearances including two starts.

Will they be able to help the Redskins, a 8.5-point underdog in the game on Sunday?

Time will tell.
