So far in 2017 the Eagles Defensive Line has been as advertised accumulating Seven Sacks, Two Forced Fumbles, and 21 Tackles.  When the team acquired Tim Jernigan this offseason, the original goal was to fill the void left by the departure of Bennie Logan.  But Jernigan has done more than that, showing he is a perfect partner to disrupt opposing offensive lines along side Fletcher Cox.  Jernigan has 1.5 Sacks, Three Tackles for Loss, and Two Quarterback Hits in just the first two games this season.

ESPN NFL Reporter Sal Paolantonio joined Mike Gill on Friday and had high praise for the fourth year Defensive Tackle out of Florida State University:

“The MVP of Offseason Acquisitions is Timmy Jernigan – (Eagles) stole him from Baltimore, he has been pushing Fletcher Cox to be better, he is active and energized and he is ferocious and violent at the point of attack.  I think Jernigan, Run Stopping (and) Rush up the middle, has been the team’s MVP on defense.  Brandon Graham’s putting up great numbers, Fletcher Cox has benefited, but Jernigan’s presence has helped both of them.”
