PFF: Nelson Agholor One of Most Productive Week 1 Receivers
The Philadelphia Eagles finally had a return on their 2015 first-round investment.
In their 30-17 win against the Washington Redskins on Sunday, among the top performers was wide receiver Nelson Agholor, a 2015 first-round pick, No. 20 overall.
For example, the average yards per route run were 1.61 yards. Only four other receivers that outranked Agholor in Week 1 - Tyreek Hill (4.16), Antonio Brown (4.92), Danny Amendola (6.67) and former Eagles wide-out Jeremy Maclin (3.29).
Agholor had eight passes thrown his way against the Redskins, tied for the team lead catching six for a career high 86 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown came on a play where he was wide open down the middle for the 58-yard score.
Agholor has been a major disappointment during his first two seasons with the Eagles. During his first two seasons, he has just 59 receptions for 648 yards and just three touchdowns. If Agholor can continue to play well, it looks like he can still be the explosive receiver that the Eagles were hoping for when they took him with the 20th overall pick in the draft.
So Eagles fans, do are you buying into Agholor this season?
