Philadelphia Eagles 2025 Depth Chart: Analyzing New Additions And Key Departures After Free Agency
With the first wave of free agency in the books, let's take a look at the Eagles' depth chart for the upcoming season.
The team has lost plenty of quality free agents but has been smart in adding competition in the areas where they lost players.
The key battles as the roster stands now are:
- Backup QB
- Right guard
- Edge Rush
- Outside CB
- Safety
- Third DT
Here is a look at each position:
QB - Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Dorian Thompson-Robinson
Hurts is the obvious guy here, but with Kenny Pickett now in Cleveland, McKee likely steps into the backup role, DTR will be interesting to watch in camp to see if he can push McKee.
RB - Saquon Barkley, A.J. Dillon, Will Shipley
Behind Barkely, Dillon and Shipley will battle for the leftover touches. Dillon is more of a power back, Shipley showed flashes and has great speed.
WR - A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Johan Dotson, Ainias Smith, Johnny Wilson
Don't be surprised if the Eagles add another WR in the draft, but it's likely that the wide receiver room will likely be very similar in 2025.
Tight End - Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Harrison Bryant, Kylen Granson
All eyes will be on what the Eagles do with Goedert. There have been reports that are looking to trade him, with a fourth-round pick the asking price, even if it's in a future NFL draft. The team added Bryant and Granson in free agency and it's likely only one makes the team unless they move on from Goedert before the season.
Offensive Line
LT - Jordan Mailata
LT - Landon Dickerson, Trevor Keegan
C - Cam Jurgens
RG - Tyler Steen / Kenyon Green
RT - Lane Johnson
Edge - Nolan Smith Jr., Jalyx Hunt, Bryce Huff, Azeez Ojulari, Joshua Uche
While this group lost Josh Sweat, they might have more depth with the additions of Ojulari and Uche. If one of both can match their best NFL season, and Huff can get on track, the team should be fine without Swest. Hunt will be one to keep an eye on, the 2024 third-round pick could be a breakout candidate in 2025.
Defensive Tackle - Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Thomas Booker IV, Gabe Davis
The loss of Milton Williams Hurts, but they still have depth behind Carter and Davis with Ojomo the name to watch here. Davis is a former third-round pick and Booker IV flashed in limited snaps in 2024.
Linebacker - Zack Baun, Nakobe Dean, Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Losing Oren Burks hurts the depth at this position, but the team seems to think Trotter can step into that reserve role. Baun got a huge deal to return and is coming off an All-Pro season. Dean is coming back from a major injury and might not be ready to open the season.
Cornerback - Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Kelee Ringo, Adore Jackson, Eli Ricks
The loss of Slay will be one to watch with Ringo and Jackson in play. The team could also move DeJean outside, but would then need a nickel back.
Safety - Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown, Lewis Cine, Tristin McCollum
The team traded C.J. Gardner-Johnson so right now it appears Brown, Cine, and McCollum will battle for his spot at training camp. The team could also look to add a safety in the draft or a veteran in free agency.
Kicker - Jake Elliott
Long Snapper - Charley Hughlett
Punter - Braden Mann
KR/PR - Avery Williams
