Flyers vs. Canadiens Preview: Northbound Travel
The end of the Flyers' homestand and start of a four-game road trip was somewhat of a success. On one hand, the Flyers continue to get points in the standings. However, wins were elusive after regulation, with three defeats in overtime or a shootout.
As the road trip continues on Tuesday night, the Flyers head north of the border to face the Montreal Canadiens.
The Flyers enter Tuesday’s game with a 2-2-3 December record. Montreal is 4-3-1 in December. Both teams are at 38 points in the standings, with Montreal in third in the Atlantic Division and the Flyers holding the first wildcard spot.
Game time is at 7 p.m.
Trevor Zegras remained hot on Sunday with another two-point game. He has a four-game points streak and has six points during that time.
Lane Hutson enters on a hot streak of his own. The second-year defenseman is on a three-game points streak, with each game being a multi-point game.
Dan Vladar gets the start for the Flyers. Vladar made 30 saves on 32 shots in a shootout loss to the Hurricanes on Sunday. Vladar was in goal for the Flyers' meeting in Montreal earlier this season on Nov. 4, allowing four goals on 20 shots in the shootout win.
Jacob Fowler starts for the Canadiens. Fowler allowed five goals on 29 shots in an overtime loss to the Rangers on Saturday in his second career start.
