Somebody's five-game losing streak was coming to an end on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately for the Philadelphia Flyers, it wasn't just the losing streak that continued. A string of blowout losses was prolonged, too.

Mika Zibanejad had a hat trick as the New York Rangers scored six straight goals on the way to a 6-3 result at Xfinity Mobile Arena, giving the Flyers six straight losses.

At 6:10 of the first period, Rodrigo Abols went down in the corner in the offensive zone and exited the game, unable to put any weight on his right leg. He did not return.

The Flyers opened the scoring at 6:22. Travis Konecny took a great cross-ice pass from Trevor Zegras and buried it for his 15th goal of the season.

But the rest of the first period was all Rangers on the scoresheet. Less than a minute after the Flyers goal, the Rangers tied the game as a defensive breakdown allowed Artemi Panarin to be left all alone for his 17th goal of the season at 7:05.

Just 21 seconds later, a shot from distance by Zibanejad found the net for his 19th goal of the season. Brennan Othmann scored on an odd-man rush just 59 seconds later for his first NHL goal.

That was the end of the day for Aleksei Kolosov, who allowed three goals on three shots.

Through 20 minutes, shots were 8-6 Flyers.

The Rangers piled on further in the second. After not scoring on their first power-play attempt, they cashed in on the second with Zibanejad getting his second of the game at 5:38.

Less than three minutes later, Zibanejad completed the hat trick on an odd-man rush to make it 5-1 at 8:25.

At 14:31, Panarin added his second of the game to make it 6-1. The Flyers got one back with 3:12 remaining in the period as Travis Sanheim scored on a shorthanded two-on-one for his sixth goal of the season.

Through two periods, shots were 19-15 Rangers.

Zegras scored at 8:01 to cut the lead to 6-3, his 19th of the season.

Samuel Ersson finished with 22 saves on 25 shots in relief. Spencer Martin made 25 saves on 28 shots in the win.

Konecny, Zegras, and Sanheim each had two points for the Flyers. In addition to Zibanejad's hat trick, Panarin had two goals and an assist for a three-point game. J.T. Miller, Alexis Lafreniere, and Vincent Trocheck each had two assists.

The Flyers hit the road for the next three games, starting on Monday night against the Vegas Golden Knights at 8 p.m.
