The Philadelphia Flyers (40-27-12) still hold control of their own destiny in the playoff race. Barely. After losing in Detroit on Thursday night, just three games remain, and it's all about picking up as many wins as possible to put the rest of the competition away.

The first game of the final three is the final game on the road in the regular season, and comes against a Western Conference opponent that it still clinging to slim playoff hopes of their own. The Winnipeg Jets (35-31-12) are just three points back of the final wildcard spot in the West, and will be in desperation mode themselves. Game time is at 7 PM.

  • Who’s hot?: Kyle Connor has seven goals and 11 points in the last nine games. Mark Scheifele has three goals and 16 points in the last eight games. Josh Morrissey has seven assists and nine points in the last nine games.
  • Who’s in net?: Connor Hellebuyck gets the start for the Jets. Hellebuyck is 23-21-11 on the season with a 2.74 GAA and .899 save percentage. Keys to the Game

  • Rebound: Following Thursday's disappointing 6-3 loss in Detroit, the Flyers are in need of a rebound game on all fronts.
  • One More for the Road: It's the final road game of the regular season for the Flyers, where they have experienced plenty of success this season. One more road win would be huge for their playoff chances.
  • Take Care of Business: Saturday is a busy day around the NHL, but the other results really don't matter if the Flyers don't handle their own business.

By the Numbers

  • The Flyers have a 20-7-4 record against the Western Conference this season. The Jets are 13-13-5 against the Eastern Conference.
  • Since March 1, the Flyers are 13-6-1. The Jets are 12-5-3 in that same span.
  • Mark Scheifele has nine goals and 25 points in 20 career games against the Flyers.

Quotable

  • "Huge lesson. We'll see our next game. But this is a huge lesson. Honestly, I'd rather us get whipped than just lose by one. So hopefully we take this and understand what it takes when you're in these situations." - Rick Tocchet following Thursday's loss to Detroit
  • "Just got to regroup for us and we got three games left to kind of control our own destiny. So go out there and play the best three games of our year." - Porter Martone after Thursday's loss to Detroit

X-Factors

  • Porter Martone: Martone was once again among the best players on the ice and is now up to six points in six NHL games. The 19-year-old continues to put himself in position to contribute, and the Flyers could use more timely contributions in Saturday's game.
  • Jonathan Toews: From one ex-Blackhawk to another. The last three games against Detroit were a reminder that Patrick Kane is still Patrick Kane. Could the former captain of the Chicago dynasty be next to stand in the way of the Flyers' playoff hopes? Jonathan Toews may be in a different role, but he's still coming through in timely moments.
