Phillies Lineup: Bryson Stott Sits on Wednesday vs A’s
The Philadelphia Phillies’ lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the Athletics was one that many people wanted to keep an eye on.
The Stott Situation: Harper’s Endorsement vs. Mattingly’s Strategy
After Bryce Harper declared Bryson Stott was an everyday player, many wondered if new Phillies manager Don Mattingly would keep him in the lineup, as Philadelphia will face a lefty for the first time in the eight games since Rob Thomson was let go.
“He's an everyday player,” Harper said about Stott. "Always has been. When you take an everyday guy out of the lineup, it's kind of tough for them to get going each day."
Full Starting Lineup vs. Jeffrey Springs
The Phillies will face left-handed starter Jeffrey Springs, and apparently, Mattingly doesn't agree with Harper, at least about Stott playing every day.
Stott is not in the lineup today. Edmundo Sosa is batting fifth and playing second base.

Wheeler Takes the Mound Against Oakland
The Phillies will counter with Zack Wheeler, who is making his start of the season, with the Phillies winning each of his first two starts, allowing three total runs over 11 innings in those games (2.45 ERA); and he is 2-0, with no runs allowed in his last two starts vs the Athletics going back to 2023.
