The Philadelphia Sixers announced on Friday that both Joel Embiid will likely be out for at least three more games, and will be evaluated again in approximately one week. Embiid has begun individual strength and conditioning work, but did not practice on Friday.

The Sixers will have to play without Embiid in games against Atlanta (Saturday), Cleveland (Monday), and Detroit (Thursday), three teams that are all Eastern Conference playoff teams.


Rookie VJ Edgecombe’s Status Uncertain After Back Sprain

Rookie VJ Edgecombe left Tuesday's loss to San Antonio right before halftime, after injuring his back, and is dealing with a lumbar sprain and did not practice on Friday.  His status for the game on Saturday is TBD.
