As the Philadelphia Phillies look for ways to improve and change their roster, there seems to be mutual interest between the team and Blue Jays free agent Bo Bichette.

according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic

The Cost of Contention: Moving on from Realmuto and Bohm

For a Bichette move to happen, per Gelb, the team would likely have to move on from mainstays like catcher JT Realmuto and third baseman Alec Bohm.

The club’s interest in Bichette is legitimate, and if it results in a deal, it would likely require the team to move on from roster mainstays J.T. Realmuto and Alec Bohm.

The move would instantly improve the Phillies' lineup, giving them a right-handed bat that hit in the middle of the Blue Jays' lineup. Bichette knows many of the Phillies players and has a previous relationship with new bench coach Don Mattingly, who was in Toronto last season.

A Proven Postseason Performer: Bichette’s 2025 Impact

Bichette would be something the Phillies have lacked, a guy who has come up big in the playoffs. The 27-year-old crushed a key three-run homer in Game 7 of the World Series against Shohei Ohtani and slashed .348/.444/.478 with one homer and six RBI across seven playoff games, missing time with a knee injury.
