The Phillies are about a month away from the start of spring training and still haven't made any moves to improve the club.

The team has added a few arms in the bullpen, but the everyday nine still has questions at catcher and shortstop among other areas.

One name they have been involved in discussions with Oakland shortstop, Marcus Semien. After a breakout 2019 that saw him hit .285 and 33 home runs. The 30-year old struggled during the 60-game 2020 season hitting just .223 with seven homers in 221 at-bats.

The team hasn't ruled out a reunion with Didi Gregorius, who hit .284 with 10 homers over 237 plate appearances in 2020.  While the door still seems open for a Gregorius return. they are keeping their options open by talking to Semien.

The team is also said to be interested in White DSox closer Alex Colome, who has an outstanding 2020 campaign. The 32-year old had a 0.84 ERA, 0.94 WHIP over 21 1/3 innings while also converting 12 saves during the shortened 2020 season.

Adding Colome would give the Phillies a legit closer for the first time in awhile, moving Hector Neris and Jose Alvarado into setup roles.
