The Philadelphia Phillies have a familiar face back fighting for a spot in their bullpen.

Veteran right-hander Daniel Robert has returned to the organization on a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.

Daniel Robert’s Previous Stint in Philadelphia

The 31-year-old Robert was with the Phillies in 2025, appearing in 15 games out of the pen after coming over from Texas in a trade. Robert was traded to the Phillies on May 1 for pitcher Enrique Segur, and he finished that year with a 4.15 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 15 strikeouts to 10 walks over 13 innings.

His 2025 season ended on September 3 with a right forearm strain.

The Battle for the Phillies' Bullpen

Robert also joins a host of veteran relievers with MLB experience and other non-roster invitees in Phillies camp fighting for bullpen spots, which also includes Kyle Backhus, Jonathan Bowlan, Nolan Hoffman, Seth Johnson, Zach Pop, Chase Shugart, Tim Mayza, Tucker Davidson, and Bryce Wilson among others.

Important Dates for Phillies Spring Training
