Tough loss last night..

Mike and Todd open up the show talking about the tough and disappointing loss the Phillies suffered last night.  You can't ask Johnathan Papelbon to be perfect every game and last night certainly you should blame 3B Coach Juan Samuel over Papelbon.

Phillies Asst. GM

Phillies Assistant GM, Scott Proefrock, called in and talked about the state that is the Philadelphia Phillies right now.  On Ryan Howard returning tonight: "Howard feels good, he could have played tonight again in Lehigh, but he's done everything we've asked and he thinks he can contribute."  Proefrock said the Phillies haven't put it all together for a good stretch of games, whether it be hitting, pitching, fielding.  On Halladay: "It will play out, he'll throw a bullpen over the weekend.  There's a chance he'll back before August."  Will the Phillies be buyers or sellers come July 31st?  Click the audio to find out:

Dei Lynam talks Brand Amnesty and Nick Young

CSN Philly Sixers Insider Dei Lynam called in and talked about the busy day the Sixers had.  The Sixers have decided to use the amnesty clause on the PF in order to clear some $18M off their books.  The team also reached an agreement with Nick Young and will let Lou Williams sign elsewhere.  Dei Lynam covers the Sixers and the NBA for CSN Philly and CSNPhilly.com.  Lynam insists that the Sixers may have something up their sleeve and is intrigued that Nick Young only signed a 1-year contract.  Stay Tuned.

Chris Dimino talks Braves

Our resident Atlanta Braves Insider Chris Dimino, 790 The Zone, called in and previewed the weekend series.  He said the Braves aren't coming in as world beaters and at the end of the season, some team(s) will be left out.  If the Phillies sweep the Braves this weekend, both teams go into the break with virtually the same record.  Chris Dimino is the Morning Show Host for 790 The Zone in Atlanta.

HoJo on

Former NY Mets legend Howard Johnson called in and talked all things baseball.  HoJo will be in Wildwood, NJ tomorrow morning at the Convention Center signing autographs and talking baseball from 11-2 p.m.  Since when Johnson played to now: there arent that many secrets anymore.  Between advanced scouting, computers, video, etc. every batter knows every pitcher and what they have done against them in the past.  Howard Johnson won two World Series Championships and was a member of the famous 1986 Mets.

Marc Jackson on state of Sixers

Former #Sixers F and current CSN Philly analyst Marc Jackson called in and gave us his thoughts on the Sixers moves today.  Jackson said by amnestying Elton Brand, the Sixers can save money off the salary cap and get the same player (as Brand) for less money.  Jackson also said "Philly is not NY, its not Chicago and free agents arent chopping at the bit to come here."  Jackson also wonders what the rest of the fan base has been wondering: Who will log most of the minutes at the SG, SF and PF positions.
