One of the most popular promotions in Philadelphia sports history is coming back this season!

In every fourth quarter of home Sixers games, the Wenday's Frosty Freeze-Out is back!

The day after an opposing player misses two consecutive free-throw attempts in the second half of a 76ers home game, fans can receive free menu items by mentioning the “Wendy’s Frosty Freeze-Out” at participating Philadelphia Tri-State area Wendy’s locations (no purchase necessary).

This has led to fans howling, booking, cheering and being as loud as possible, regardless of the score. Opposing players look in disbelief as Sixers fans are letting them have it, even with the home team leading 100-72 with 3-minutes left in the game -- all for a free frosty!

Here is an amazing call from Kevin Harlan during a game a few years ago:

The tiered offer includes:

  • The first time the opposing player misses two consecutive free throws in the second half: Fans will receive a free Small Frosty.
  • The second time the opposing player misses two consecutive free throws in the second half: Fans will receive a free Small Frosty and free Small Fry.
  • The third time the opposing player misses two consecutive free throws in the second half: Fans will receive a free Medium Frosty and free Medium Fry.

Wendy's locations in the Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties include:

  • 798 TILTON RD. in NORTHFIELD, NJ 08225

Former Sixer Dwight Howard actually took advantage of the promotion last season:

Fans first chance at the Frosty Free-Out this season will be Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets, in a game you can listen to right here on 97.3 ESPN.  And yes, if you listen to the game and player misses two free-throws in the fourth quarter, you can head to one of the above mentioned Wendy's for your free Frosty.
