Report: Eagles’ Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore gets 2nd interview for Saints Head Coaching Job
Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is scheduled to meet in-person for a second interview with the New Orleans Saints for their head coaching position, according to a report on social media from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Moore interviewed with New Orleans for the first timw on Saturday before the Eagles matchup with the LA Rams in the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs.
Moore is the at least the fourth known candidate to receive a second interview for the Saints job. Former Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy, along with Buffalo offensive coordinator Joe Brady, Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver and KC offensive coordinator Mike Kafka are other candidates according to reports.
Moore, 36, has been on the Eagles' coaching staff for just one season, but has spent including the previous five as a coordinator with the Chargers and four seasons in Dallas. This year, his offensive line paved the way for Saquon Barkley to rush for over 2,000 yards, giving Philadelphia the NFL’s best rushing attacks. The Eagles finished the regular season ranked second in rushing yards per game (179.3), fifth in yards per carry (4.9) and the most attempts in football. The team is also ranked seventh in points scored and eighth in total yards.
In addition to New Orleans, Moore has interviewed with Dallas and Jacksonville.
The New Orleans head coaching position became open after the team parted ways with Dennis Allen, who replaced Sean Payton.
