Report: Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert to miss extended time with shoulder injury
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert will miss extended time due to a shoulder injury, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
The injury is not expected to cost him the season.
Goedert, 27, was injured during the fourth quarter of Monday’s 32-21 loss to the Washington Commanders on a play where Goedert secured a catch but was taken down by his face-mask, fumbling the ball.
In the game, he caught three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown in the game and has 43 catches on 53 targets for 544 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games this season.
He is a big part of the Eagles offense that will be tough to replace.
The Eagles offense behind Goedert at the tight end position is limited with Jack Stoll likely to get more snaps.
He had one reception on one target for 11 yards against the Commanders. Stoll has a total of 49 yards on four receptions in nine games this season.
The only other tight end on Philadelphia’s roster is sixth-round pick Grant Calcaterra, who only has one reception for 40 yards in 2022.
One guy to keep an eye on at tight end is Tyree Jackson, who was placed on the team's Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list on August 23rd, but can be activated to the teams active roster at any point now.
