The Ben Simmons saga might not be coming to an end anytime soon.

With NBA training camps set to open on Sept. 28, the expectation is that Ben Simmons will be there when the Sixers report on that Tuesday.

According to veteran Sixers reporter Tom Moore from the Bucks County Courier Times, the team expects Simmons to eventually show up and then go from there. He notes that the Sixers plan to fine Simmons if he doesn't attend training camp and play in preseason games.

He notes that they don't want to trade for draft picks and that the expectation is that Simmons will play this season and the team expects the situation to get better.

As I maintained throughout this offseason, I don't see Daryl Morey moving Simmons to make the team different, but they would be willing to trade him to make the team better. With Simmons essentially announcing he doesn't want to be here, that will make this more of a challenge, but Morey seems willing at least for now, to force Simmons to show up at camp.

As I have stated, its my opinion that Morey won’t sell Ben for little to nothing, and he’s not afraid the stare down, playing this ultimate game of chess with with Simmons and his agent Rich Paul. .

Simmons has reportedly been receiving interest from 4-5 teams, with Cleveland, Sacramento, Minnesota at the top of that list.
