The Phillies have been battling some injuries of late.  Bryce Harper continues to rehab from "Tommy John" surgery.  Andrew Painter suffered a UCL sprain.  And Ranger Suárez is behind after some forearm tightness and probably is not ready Opening Day.  And now it does not look good for their slugging first baseman.

Rhys Hoskins

The images invoked memories of Andrew McCutchen a couple seasons ago.

The Phillies have depth at first base in Darick Hall, who hits left-handed, and in Alec Bohm, who has gotten work at the position this Spring.  If Hoskins misses time (which seems likely by looking at the injury), a combination of Hall and Bohm could cover first base, while providing an opportunity for the likes of Edmundo Sosa and perhaps Spring surprise Jake Cave.
