Sixers Acquire Dario Saric in Deal for Elfird Payton

The Sixers drafted Louisiana Lafayette guard Elfrid Payton with the 10th pick in the NBA Draft.A few moments later, they traded him for Croatian forward Dario Saric who was drafted by the Magic with the 12th pick.  The 6’10" forward is a talented scorer and posted impressive averages of 16.7 points, 9.7 boards, 1.3 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.1 triples in his 28 games in the Adriatic League.

Saric confirmed earlier this week that he'll play in Turkey for the next two seasons, after which he's certain he'll come to the NBA and play for the Sixers.

As for Payton, he has been drawing some comparisons to Portland guard Damian Lillard, who exploded during the NBA playoffs.  He is a tall, athletic and long guard and could end up being a solid defender and scorer in the NBA.
