The scenario couldn’t have been better, the stage was set for the 76ers with a Game Six at home to close out the series against the heavy-betting favorite Boston Celtics. The Sixers had stolen home-court advantage by beating the Celtics in Boston in Games one and five.  On the same Thursday night that the Eagles' 2023 schedule came out, also Taylor Swift is in town and it was a beautiful day in South Jersey!   With the Sixers fans packed into the Wells Fargo Center alongside current Philly athletes and celebrities were in attendance.  What could go wrong?  I will tell you what went wrong: The Sixers came out flat, shooting an unacceptable 36 Percent along with only making eight Three-Point shots in a 95-86 loss.   Now the Sixers have to return to Boston for Game Seven on Sunday, they have to try and reach their first Eastern Conference Finals in over 20 years on Mother's Day!  Sixers Head Coach Doc Rivers will make his 16th appearance as a head coach in a game seven in the NBA Playoffs; Rivers has a 6-9 record in his coaching career in Game Seven.

The Phillies have won three straight games, thanks in part to their sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays in Philadelphia and tonight start a three-game series in Colorado against the Rockies before traveling to San Francisco to play Giants.  The Phillies currently are in Third Place in the National League East with an 18-19 record, which is also the SAME EXACT record the Phillies had in the first 37 games to start last season!

The Eagles schedule for the 2023 NFL season was released on Thursday and we will take a closer look at the Birds opponents for the upcoming season!

On Saturday’s show, Mike Carlin joins me in the studio as we will analyze the Sixers' Game Six loss and get you ready for Game Seven against the Celtics on Sunday.  The Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas " The Book" will look at who’s the favorite to win the NBA and NHL championships halfway through the playoffs.  In Hour Two, we will talk Phillies' Baseball and Eagles' Football plus take your text messages on all things Philly Sports at 609-403-0973.

On Sunday’s Show, Josh Hennig will co-host with me plus "The Intern" Andrew Leads will join me in studio as we prepare for Sunday’s Sixers' Game Seven against the rival Celtics in Boston.  Every Sunday we go “On the Mound” with former Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by the John R. Elliott Hero Campaign for Designated Drivers.  Tommy talks about the latest with the Phillies this season.  In Hour Two, we will cover continue to get you ready for Sixers and Phillies afternoon action plus talk Eagles and a little Flyers tossed in as well.
