Bo Melton, had six grabs for 59 yards, including a touchdown. Melton took a short pass, made a move and took a Noah Vedral toss 40 yards for the touchdown.

On the very next possession for Temple, Melton's brother Max also got in on the Cape-Atlantic League fun. The Scarlet Knights defensive back took a Justin Lynch pass 46 yards to the house for an interception return for another Rutgers score.

Vineland's Pacheco had 15 carries for 48 yards, including a 2-yard score.

Also helping out in the season opening win was Pleasantville linebacker Mohamed Toure, who had two tackles, one for loss. The sophomore is coming off a fine season in 2020, with 4.5 sacks.

The Melton's, Toure and Pacheco hope to be a part of what should be a fun Rutgers season, Greg Schiano's second season in his return to Rutgers. The 61 points was the most in program history against any FBS opponent and multiple CAL alums had a part in that.

Bo Melton and Pacheco are also captains this season for the Scarlet Knights.

Both Temple and Rutgers typically fight for Cape-Atlantic League talent. The Cape-Atlantic League is now a part of the West Jersey Football League

The Scarlet Knights will look open the season 2-0 when they travel to face Syracuse next Saturday in the dome.
