The Phillies beat the Red Sox by a score of 3-2. They haven't won many games this season without scoring the magic number of four runs. The offense jumped on Brian Johnson early, scoring three runs, but it went quiet from there. Aaron Nola was truly amazing as he threw seven innings and recorded seven strike outs. He only made one mistake all night which was a fastball to Jackie Bradley Jr for a two-run home run. The bullpen was able to do the job as Jose Alvarez, Mike Morin, and Hector Neris finished the game. Hector Neris got lucky in ninth due to bad base running by Xander Bogaerts that resulted in an out at third after he hit a leadoff double.
