The Phillies can't find a way to stop the bleeding. In the final game in San Francisco, the Phils fall 9-6. There were three big issues that factored into the result of this loss. First, Jake Arrieta did not have a good day at the office. He only threw three total innings, allowing seven hits, and five earned runs. He was on the mound with a 5-2 lead and instantly gave it up the next inning. Second, the offense was not getting timely hits as they left bases loaded stranded in the fourth and seventh inning. Last, Gabe Kapler was poor with managing once again. After Jose Alvarez recorded two outs in the eighth, Kapler put in Nick Pivetta who allowed a triple to Kevin Pillar and a costly hit to Will Smith, the Giants closer, hitting for the first time in his major league career.
