Sports Talk with Brodes: Phillies Lose 5-4 to Mets & Walk in the Winning Run!
The Phillies find yet another way to blow our minds with a 5-4 loss to the New York Mets. This time, Nick Vincent walked Pete Alonso in the bottom of the ninth with bases loaded to lose the game. Gabe Kapler had another terrible game as manager. There was a moment in the eighth where he didn't have Hector Neris up in the bullpen in time and the umpire had to go all the way to the pen to get Neris. It truly was embarrassing. The Phils fought back a couple times as they were down 2-0 and 4-2 in this game and tied in up both times. In the top of the ninth, JT Realmuto crushed a two-run home run to tie it. Bryce Harper left the game with a contusion on his hand as he got rocked with a pitch.
