The Phillies win in 15 innings by a score of 3-2. It is great they came out on top, but this was not a pretty game at all. The Phils offense struck out 18 times and left runners in scoring position a lot. It was an interesting pitching duel to start the game as Aaron Nola faced off against Matt Boyd, a potential Phillie if Matt Klentak decides to put the right pieces together in a trade. In extra innings, the Tigers had their leadoff man on second with no outs and did not bunt him over. This costed the Tigers the game as Brad Miller eventually guns the runner out, from left field, at home to keep the game alive. In the fifteenth inning, Scott Kingery tripled and Rhys Hoskins knocked him in before Jose Alvarez shut the door.
