The Sixers held their first practice as a team Sunday afternoon, and are already facing issues with COVID-19. Reports have emerged that first-round pick Tyrese Maxey and forward Mike Scott have both tested positive. Paul Hudrick of 97.3 ESPN has confirmed both reports...
The Philadelphia Sixers were swept by the Boston Celtics. Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker were just too much. Joel Embiid had no help, but the overall state of this 76ers' team didn't stand a chance. Will Brett Brown get fired? What major changes will come next? Is anyone willing to take on Al Horford or Tobias Harris' contract? So many questions.....
The Philadelphia Sixers lose game three to the Boston Celtics. The Celtics closed the game out on a 10-0 run. Joel Embiid was the only reason why the 76ers had a chance considering the squad shot under 30% from the field. Late though, he had a crucial turnover late and was rejected by Jayson Tatum in the final moments. The team shot 23% from three. Tobias Harris has yet to make a three-pointer this series and Al Horford was terrible! This team stinks.
The Philadelphia Sixers were blown out by 27 points against the Boston Celtics in Game 2. Brett Brown's defensive philosophy is getting mocked by Kemba Walker and Joel Embiid. Things need to change. Jayson Tatum can't continue to get where he wants to on the floor. Matisse Thybulle was no match for him as Thybulle finished -30 on the night. Al Horford recorded four points and two rebounds. Tobias Harris shot 4-15 from the floor. The 76ers were out-rebounded. Yup. You ready that correctly. It looked like they waived the white flag.
The Sixers have their last taste of regular season action before the playoffs on Friday when they will face off against the Houston Rockets in their final seeding game. Starters will most likely see the same type of load they saw against the Raptors in preparation for the postseason...
The Philadelphia Sixers played the Phoenix Suns without any starters except Shake Milton. It was fun to watch the guys compete, but this game essentially meant nothing. Mike Scott scored 17 points in 22 minutes, Raul Neto scored 22 points, and Alec Burks shot the ball well. Matisse Thybulle made sure Devin Booker earned his points, but foul trouble was a concern. The refs didn't help what-so-ever.
The Philadelphia Sixers lose to the Portland Trail Blazers as Damian Lillard drops 51 points. Joel Embiid left six minutes into the game with an ankle injury and did not return. Josh Richardson scored 34 points and actually performed well for the first time in a long time. The team fought hard and did everything they could without the big man and Ben Simmons, who left the NBA bubble to get surgery on his knee.
