On Wednesday, I attended the Phillies-Mets game afternoon game at Citizens Bank Park with my daughter.  It was a beautiful day for a "Business Person Special" early in the season.  We had great seats in left field in the 4th row and had the opportunity to get our Manco & Manco Pizza at the Ballpark.  There are several things for younger kids to do when at the Phillies game and keeping a six-year-old entertained for nine innings after eating cotton candy and water ice is tough, especially when the Phillies are losing.

The New York Mets Starting Pitching leads Major League Baseball with a combined 1.29 ERA this season and their dominance on the mound was there on Wednesday afternoon.  The Phillies trailed throughout the game and they couldn’t solve the Mets Ace Max Scherzer.  The Phillies finished their opening homestand 3-3 and lost the first game against the Marlins in Miami 4-3 in game one of a four-game set Thursday night.

The Philadelphia 76ers will face the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night at 6pm in Round One of the 2022 NBA Playoffs.  The Sixers and Raptors met four times this season with Toronto winning three times.  Sixers MVP candidate Joel Embiid missed the first game in the series against Toronto because of Covid-19 Protocols.  The last time these two teams met on April 7th in Toronto, Pascal Siakam had a monster game scoring 37 points, tallying 12 assists, and grabbing 10 rebounds.  This weekend in The Locker Room we will cover it all and get you ready for the weekend in Sports!

On Saturday’s show, former Eagles Linebacker Brad Quast joins me in the studio and the Sports Book Consigliere Dave Sharapan checks in from Las Vegas with his perspective on the odds of the Sixers beating the Raptors.  The Phillies are in Miami and we will review all the action plus get you set for the weekend in Sports.

On Sunday, Pete Thompson and I will entertain you with the best sports talk in South Jersey.  Our weekly segment “On the Mound with Tommy Greene” at 10:30 am brought to you by GSF Golf Performance Club.  Tommy will give his insight on the Phillies pitching staff and team play early in the season.  In Hour Two, Pete and I will talk with former Flyers Captain Dave Poulin.  The NHL and the NY Islanders lost a hockey legend Mike Bossy to cancer so Dave will talk about Mike's career and the state of the Flyers.  Plus we’ll have reaction to the Sixers Game One against the Raptors.

All that and more in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to Noon on 97.3 ESPN FM Radio.
