The Eagles might be without a Pro-Bowler when they face Dallas in Big D, The Flyers and Rangers with a Winter Classic preview, Nova Hoops and more in the "Morning Sports Page"

Will He Play:  When the Eagles release their official injury report for the Cowboys game, Asante Samuels name will surely be on the list.  The question is will be be able to give it a go on Saturday.  Andy Reid indicated that Samuel would not need to practice to play.  “Yeah, he knows what we’re doing; it’s just a matter of getting the soreness out of there to where he feels comfortable, Reid said."  "I mean, nobody wants to play more than he does so you know he’s going to do everything possible to get himself ready to go.”

Sixers opener:  When the Sports Bash returns on December 27th (Just A Bit Outside is on vacation next week), the Sixers will have played their first game.  They open the day after Christmas in Portland, we'll preview the home-town five today on the show.

Winter Classic Preview:  The Flyers take on the Rangers tonight at the Garden in a match-up of the two teams that will face-off on January 2nd, in the Winter Classic.  Claude Giroux returned from a concussion in style Wednesday night, scoring four points.

Nova wins: Villanova held off a feisty American University squad, defeating the Eagles 73-53 in the final non-conference tune-up of the season.  The Wildcats beginsBig East play next Wednesday at West Virginia.
