With NFL free agency about a month and a half away, the Eagles do have a few in-house decisions to make once players are allowed to test the open market.

Pro Football Focus released a list of its free agent rankings, which includes just two players in the top-140:

No. 45 CB Steven Nelson

No. 55 DE Derek Barnett

Of their 14 available players, just two of their current free agents made their list, which ranked the top 140 available players this offseason.

More Eagles Coverage: A look at the Eagles 14 pending free agents

The Eagles could lose a pair of starters from their 2021 defense, but might be willing to let them both walk and replace them either through the draft or in free agency. Of the two, I would think that Nelson might be more inclined to return to the team if no long-term deal is out there for him.

Nelson was a free agent addition last year, but was unable to land a long term deal and landed in Philadelphia with a one-year, $2.5 million deal.

The Eagles’ lack of depth at cornerback, so could look to bring back Nelson on a team friendly team if a long term option isn't out there for him on the open market.

As for Barnett, he has had a underwhelming career, since being drafted No. 14 overall in the 2017 draft.

He finished with just two sacks and 21.5 during his five seasons.

Barnett, who will be 26 years old next season, might get some action on the open market, but I think its unlikely he will make a return to Philadelphia.

Two other names that didn't make the top 140 to keep an eye on are safeties Rodney McLeod and Anthony Harris.  Running back Jordan Howard and edge rusher Genard Avery are also unrestricted free agents.
