Tyrese Maxey set to return on Tuesday vs Knicks
After beating the Knicks on Sunday night without Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers will have his services on Tuesday night when they face New York again at the Garden.
Maxey has cleared the concussion protocol and will return to the court after missing the past four games with the team going 1-3 in his absence. The team was 0-8 without Maxey and Joel Embiid, who is still out with a knee injury, with no concreate timetable on a return to the court.
In 55 games this season, Maxey is averaging 26 points, 6.3 assists, and hitting on 37% of his 3-pointers this season and made his first-ever All-Star game,
Without Maxey, Kyle Lowry, Cameron Payne, and Jeff Dowtin have been doing a lot of the ballhandling in his absence.
With Maxey back, it will be interesting to see how Nick Nurse uses Maxey and Lowry together and what role Payne might have. On Sunday night against the Knicks, the Sixers went with Lowry and Payne over Buddy Hield. Will Maxey pair up with Hield in the lineup or will he lect to go with Lowry and Maxey together.
